Let's hear it for seeing Matt Miller for the first time since like, Warped Tour! woot!
Anyway yesterday we went to the Everson Art Museum in Syracuse with Freshman Forum. It was a pretty good time--a little boring...I miss the Albright Knox SO MUCH though. Well, ok, so I miss the Musee d'Orsay more...but shhhh... anyway then afterwards we went back to the campus (yay taxis! Except the guy taxi in front of us should have turned around and waved but they didn't and I was sad. Hahaha we were so illegally crammed in there and we almost got into an accident and died. Awesome. Syracuse drivers suck.
Then we actually finished filming the fencing video!! Mad good times! Actually it was really bad because sometimes we were laughing too hard to film...and my sleeves mutated and grew because I was so excited about seeing fencers on the Quad. My awesome line was, "yea, sure thanks!" and then he gave me the flyer...and then I passed it on to the next group of fencers in the end! whoaaaaaaa...passing of the tourch etc. Mike and Jay are going to make us a copy that I can have to show to people so look forward to that.
I came back here to write my French essay until the Freshman Forum lecture. Last year they had David McCulloigh!!! <33333!! I'm such a loser. The professor told us that and everyone was like "uh, ok" and I was like "ARE YOU SERIOUS?!?! He wrote the John Adams biography!! It was the number one best seller for like 2 years! I loved that book!" It made John Adams cool again!! (shut up, he is cool!! But like I was his only fan in the world ever and then David McCulloigh like brought him into the light and people liked him. Awwww it was SO COOL. My daddy bought me the book and we read it and its really good...ok shut up so I'm a year too late.) Henry Louis Gates was the speaker, we read his book "Colored People" over the summer (I read it on the train in Ireland and finished it in the Amsterdam airport. I know I'm sweet) Haha, I wasn't the only person upset about missing the debate though. The Brian IR major in my class and I got really excited and Alana was like "I don't know you" haha she's the not cool IR major :)) and then we were talking about the election and I realized that Ben is from Valley Forge, PA (my favorite book in my earlier life took place there) and I was like "you're from a swing state!!!!!!!" and he was like "uh, how do you know where I'm from?" and I was like "I'm an american history nerd, remember?" and he was like "oh yea, well I have an absentee ballot" and I was like "yay! good job!" and he was like "you don't even know who I'm voting for. I know who you're voting for (I had been on a pro-Edwards is HOT rant beforehand) but you don't know who I'm voting for" and I got all confused. I was like "oh...yea. Well...are you voting the right way or should I never speak to you again?" and he was like "relax, I'm voting Democrat" and I was like "Good!" but I was so confused. because why wouldn't he vote democrat? phwew! It was insane. The lecture was better then I thought it would be, just like the book was better then I thought it would be.
Becca was sitting in front of me so we walked back together. Actually she ran because she doesn't have my tough Buffalo coldness. Anyway then I watched the VP debate and laughed and laughed at Cheney's face and droooooled over how awesome and hot and amazing Edwards is. Cheney said that he's in the Senate all the time and hadn't met Edwards before that day but he's a moron Edwards said that CHENEY VOTED AGAINST FREEING NELSON MANDELA. I hate that scumbag. Also, thank Sarah for http://www.youforgotpoland.com its hot.
Enough. Then today we had a super fun French class which included a lesson in cheese and eating cheese on baguette <333 and Vincent singing a rap song. It was intense.
In WP&C we're learning about the Sambia in Papua, New Guinea. We're learning about the...intense...male initiion rites. Allow me to quote directly from my notes from lecture this afternoon:
"small tribes.
pigs not important
homoerotic aspect to male rites"
its intense...I'm not going to write further because Kim could NEVER RESEARCH THESE PEOPLE. Its really....REALLY different.
guess who I'm seeing in 3 days???? yay!!
I love and miss you all!!
The best part of the Mest CD is the bodily functions. And also, WHAT'S THE DILLIO??
The best part about randomly sitting here doing nothing is glancing down at the paper you have yet to read and it saying "Danny Tamberelli" and me going "hmmm...what the crap?" Its a list of top 10 Childhood Stars and Danny's #3!!
"As Little Pete Wrigley from "Pete and Pete," Tamberelli managed to pull off having red hair and being supremely cool- a feat only previously attempted by Ron Howard. Ron made it "adorable" but it was Tamberelli who brought it up to a whole new level. Plus, his best friend's dad was Iggy Pop. End of Contest."
Damn Straight! Maybe I should send it to him. Or maybe I should just sit here and not. I'm so lazy I'll leave it up to you to figure out what I do. I think I'll email my uncle Paul and tell him. Because I'm sweet like that.
