HAPPY BIRTHDAY MIKE HELWIG!!!
Thanks so much to everyone who participated in thie weekend. It was awesome!
Friday I took the train home--I got on the first train and grabbed my cell phone to call my Grandma and then I looked up and right in front of me was my Grandma waving to me! She saved me a seat!! Awwww, Grandma!! So we talked all the way into Buffalo-Depew where my mom picked us up for her birthday! yay!! Aw, the best quotes from my Grandma were "I wouldn't go near Hillary Clinton's house...except to egg it!" and "Yea, they got around and saw a lot of things...well they didn't SEE anything.." (talking about the recent emergency trip to Europe of my blind uncle and aunt) Anyway it was fun. We had food that wasn't from the Dining Hall which was AWESOME and then we had cake and opened presents and then I took a shower and went to bed and it was great. I love being home. I wish everyone was home. That would be sweet.
Saturday I woke up around 10 (the most sleep I've gotten since last time I was home) and called Marie. The two of us decided to go out for breakfast but we couldn't remember anyplace to go (in case any of you haven't been told the Perkins near Hoover is now a Dunkin' Donuts/ Baskin Robbins. What's up with that?? Let's still call it Perkins. Just like BQUICK and Putt Putt and J.Js...does anyone remember JJ's on Rowley??? yay!) so we just went to the Plaka and ate then we wrote a letter to Stuhlmiller (lest he thought for a moment that we might like Cornell more) and we called Christina and KT to go to Condrells but niether one answered, but eventually KT called back. Then it was road trip to Canisuis time to find Kt's dorm (mission: impossible..hahaha Kim remember Mission: Impossible: find a million dollars) then we went to Condrells and we had a lot of fun and got to catch up... let me review...SHUT UP MARIE...."hot just like..." etc... hahah.
Then I drove Marie home and went to pick up my brother at Kim's but while I was pulling into Marie's driveway Chrissy called and she and Matt (or is it Mike? God I'm the world's worst person with names!) had spontaniously decided to road trip to Buffalo and so we met up at Kim's where we talked to Kim's mom and hung out and missed Kim. Then we went home and my Grandma took us out to Shogun. Mmmm...Shogun is awesome.
Then I was dropped off at Mark's and it was dark because losers don't know how to turn on lights?? It was Marie, Mark, Phil, Mike, and Dan Bostaph and then finally Brian and Rob showed up so we attempted to head out to the cottage but it didn't really work so we lost Dan Bostaph and Phil (we only missed Dan Bostaph) :) and then we drove out to Angola...*sigh* I love the Southtowns at like every courner I was like "that's where my Daddy is!!" or "that's where my Daddy went to school!" or "my uncle lives over there!" or "that's where my aunt went right after her wedding as a practical joke to freak out the people and pretend her wedding party was there!" anyway it was fun. We passed my Daddy's work!!!! (More on this topic later!!) Then we made a fire in the sense of "the boys made a fire" and then we hung out and then the boys went in to eat and Marie and I talked some more and then we were afraid that if we let the fire die while they were gone that we would never live it down so we built it up 3 times and finally the guys came out and decided to kill it because they're really big jerks. It was fun though. Except that Mike kept trying to call us "eye candy" and touching us. Ew, Mike! Then we drove home and BEAT THE OTHER CAR SWIFTLY IN THE BUTT WITH OR WITHOUT A TIME MACHINE!!! LIARS!!!
Sunday we went to St. Pauls 10 o clock in hopes of seeing POLSKA but he was not there and I ended up chatting with Greg Della Posta and seeing the families of a lot of people I know but I didn't talk to anyone except Greg because apparently I'm as big a loser at home as I am here!! Then I hung out and did some homework and then we went shopping a little and I saw Alicia again! (but I didn't get to talk to her this week) Then we went to the train station and I rode it back here and got back to my dorm just in time for the floor meeting. woot. not really. Then I wrote essays well into the night. Mmmm..."Globalization and Me" and a stupid essay about a Camerooni family... :(
This morning we started learning about French food and if there's one thing Elric's family taught me was how to eat French-style. It makes me homesick for Tourcoing though... :( Junior year I'm going to be in Strasbourg which is where the SU is in France which is right on the German border which is the wrong border country if you ask me but I checked and its like 5 and a half hours to get home from there...oh well. I'll do it to visit them! And then Elric will CRY. It'll be great! Anyway I'm also the class expert on Quick...I love Belgian Fast Food!! Many awesome French quotes from Quick!!! The best being. "That is not the government homework that is a pair of socks!" Also today Vincent told us about a Japanese Creperie that opened up in Bretagne I think it was that said it was selling "Japanese Crap" it was awesome. My favorite part was when he wrote "Japanese Crap" on the board.
Then I had an hour off in which to drink my iced coffee and write to Liz so I decided to call Mike Helwig so I TMed him and said happy birthday and then he TMed me back saying "Thanks I should be in class but instead I'm sitting in my car" so this interested me so I called him and we had a good 10 minute conversation about how he was skipping in order to sit in his air conditioned car to listen to Shredd and Reagan, watch geese and watch a guy mow the lawn...am I leaving anything out? no. It was awesome. I love Mike. Could he be cooler? Yes. Will he ever have a date? No. Did he really have a hickey? For Gods sake I need to believe no...or the fate of mankind is unknown. But we still love him.
Then I went to global community which I adooooore and we watched a movie about globalization and its effect on Philadelphia. May I add in here that my cousin, Bill Ewing, the Harvard grad is working his way through his Ph.D by being the 24 hour on call science man for the Home Shopping Network. Wow. Just wow.
Then we got out early so Alana and I got bagels at HBC (I got a sour cream and onion bagel) and we hung out on the Quad and then we went to Schine and then we read the paper and went to our classes. New homework group in calc! yay!! other then that it wasn't fun. Except when she was throwing apples at kids for no reason. That was strange.
I then wrote to Liz for an hour on the Quad and then went to WP&C where we watched a movie on the !Kung people which was really interesting and then I came back and got lunch and talked to Kim and that's been my day so far. Its been pretty good and I'm actually enjoying the day. What're the odds of that?
And now for the big news I promised...
Tomorrow at 5pm (so that I can't make it) The Lake Shore Hospital Drug and Treatment Center will be officially renamed....
THE MARK G. COOPER DRUG AND TREATMENT CENTER!!!!!!
After my Daddy!!!!!!! I love my Daddy! I'm so excited! Isn't that awesome??? I'm so sad I can't go but I just think that's really cool. We drove past it because its right near Mark's cottage...yea Silver Creek... and I was like "on Tuesday that'll be my Daddy's Treatment Center!" yay!
This weekend I left my math homework and home and brought my car keys here...that sucks because I hadta redo my math and my mom can't move the car. hahaha. oops. She has another.
I missed Lake Erie. I'm sick of these puny "finger lakes" give me a great lake any day!
Alright. This is long enough. My apologies. Leave me a comment?
