HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHRISSY!!! I love my XDILLY! :)
OK well I hafta leave in 20 minutes for my math exam and I've been studying hard core for a couple hours now so I've decided to take a break because my brain is pretty fried. Also, Unsolved Mysteries is on.
The Question of the day is: do you think that it is possible for someone to live on Poptarts alone? It is obvious to me that if you said no then you either don't know me or you are not a college student, or both, in which case...why are you reading this?
Mmmmm...poptarts.
Moving on, last night we went to see Michael Moore speak in the Dome. It was AWESOME. There were these ghetto anti-Moore pro-Bush protestors and it was really funny. I took a picture of them. Did they really think they would like stop us? We just laughed. Anyway it was really great. He made some really good points. He said some really nice things about Repbulicans as a whole, he said some really mean things about Bush, but he also said some really mean things about Kerry...all around it was Anti-Bush and it was FUNNY!! We got to see some previously unreleased footage of children in Iraq and things. He also spoke up about his friend Ralph Nader and how he supported him at first making him promise not to campaign in swing states then when Gore didn't allow him in the debate then Nader got mad and started campaigning in the swing states at which point he lost backing by people like Michael Moore, who also pleaded with him to not run this time. Grrrr...ok anyway. I think one of the most amazing facts of the night was the fact that right after September 11th, the FBI was going through gun records trying to see if any of the hijackers had bought guns in the past year, and when John Ashcroft (you may recall John Ashcroft as the man behind the Patriot "I'll take away anyone's rights if I feel like it" Act) found out he DID NOT ALLOW THE FBI ACCESS TO THE GUN FILES OF THE HIJACKERS OF 9/11!! The FBI is STILL NOT ALLOWED TO even though they KILLED 3000 PEOPLE!!!!!!!!
wow.
Also, he was talking about something I believe (and have before I heard him speak) that if Bush doesn't hafta worry about reelection then he will do things we don't even want to imagine....least of all bringing back the draft. I don't know about you, but I don't feel like being drafted and I really don't want my friends or my brother or my cousins getting drafted either. God, I really hate that man.
Moore was saying how recently some bootlegged copies of Farenheit 9/11 have shown up on the streets of Baghdad and paused to say "I don't know how they got there"...he stopped looked away and covered his face with his hat and said "God I hate copyright laws!" haha it was amazing. Anyway, he gave up a chance at an Oscar to try to get the documentary on TV before Election Day and is hopeful it will air (with some of the added footage we saw) November 1st. He also is having a book of letters written to him from soldiers in Iraq published. He told us to read it, and if we hafta buy it to photocopy it and give it to undecided voters. I suppose the highlight for me was when he read to us the surprisingly brutal "My Pet Goat" which is the book George Bush was reading to the chlidren when he found out that planes had just struck the World Trade Center in NY. The book was crazy! I'll tell you about it later but I hafta go.
Hahah, it was a really great talk.
It really was.
And afterwards I got to see Marie which was SOOOO great. Sadly, I didn't get to see her for long because I had to run back to a hall meeting which I never found which really sucked.
My French test sucked too. I haven't had a French test in 2 years! (Exams are not tests--do you realize how hard it would be to NOT get 100 with Madame???) (I LOVE MADAME THOUGH!!) But I will NEVER write about my house in French again.
Just so you know.
So never like, walk up to me and be like 'hey Kelly! Write about your house in French!' cuz I will slap you. Honest to God!
on a bizarre side note...Happy Birthday Mr. Herb....if only you weren't dead.
