hahaha anyway.
So Monday I had karate club after school and then I went over to Brian's to teach him and Steve all about Cuba. I left around 8 and finished up Model UN stuff.
Tuesday was Model UN. And Steve didn't show!! Poor Brian got forced into doing it and then he didn't have a partner!!!! I'm sorry!! But it was fun. Marie and I were so awesome--well, Marie was. Our resolution lasted for about 3 hours. We didn't get practically anything done on the second resolution and nothing at all on the third. We made some new friends like Costa Rica from WSW and stuff. Janet Hirsh and Karen Oddo were Spain right in front of us and it was nice to see them. I hadn't seen Karen since 3rd grade GT (we freaked out about Katlyn together) and I hadn't seen Janet since girl scout chorus (but before that since 4th grade when we were in GT together) so that was nice. They're real smart and won, but we really should have come in second at least. While Marie was walking around doing useful stuff, I walked around and found prey in little lonely looking people and I would look at their name tag and be like "Hi, Argentina?" "Yes" "Hi, I'm Cuba." "Hi" "So, how are you feeling about this resolution?" "Its ok" "Argentina, did you know that you have 150,000 people in your country with AIDS/HIV?" "Uh......yes." "Yea, well did you know that Cuba has made a vaccine that can be used against AIDS/HIV and when this resolution is passed you'll be able to save these 150,000 people? You DO want to save these 150,000 peoples lives, right?? right??" "Yes!" And they always ended up supporting our resolution! It was like magic!! I heart that sheet of facts we brought! Well, the biggest problems were the UK and Denmark. Denmark, I was like, who needs them? So I pull out my sheet and I see the worst fact I could find about their medical community...their life span is .04 years less than that of the USA!!!! Whoa, shot down Denmark!! So I decided not to mention that. And we had some good stuff on the UK but the guy was this jerk that just kept mentioning how our resolution would infringe on copyrights. He gave the same speech 100 times!! So finally Yugoslavia (formerly Israel) got up and was like "you're stupid UK" (not his exact words) anyway so I'm doing my persuading and I walk up to this group of kids who look like pushovers and I'm like "hey" but I can't read their nametags and I don't recognize them because they'd only been up to speak once and they were like "USA" I was like "OH NO! THEY'VE CAUGHT MY COMMUNIST TRICKS" So I'm like "uh, nice to meet you! bye!" and they're like "Wait, who are you? What did you want to say?" I was like "nothing, no, I'm just checking up to make sure everyone's supporting this resolution, answering questions, you know" and they're like "oh, we don't know. We haven't read it. We're just doing whatever the UK says" So I'm like "uh, ok...." whoa. the USA sucked. I guess that's why St. Joes is always the US. (Ewwww Mr Perfect!!) So I didn't hafta tell them I was Cuba! So then our resolution passed!!! YAY!! And we had the same Chair as last year who we like! He looks like Tommy Smith (THE PEANUT GUY) hahaha. Well, he does! UNIONDALE!! Anyway!! Chelsea Longberger was India! That was nice to see her!! So Iran and us were passing notes at the end of Model UN and it went like this:
"Hi Cuba - Iran"
"Hi Iran! How are you? the US sure stinks, huh? -Cuba"
"Tell us about it!" and at this point the stupid UK guy had just gotten up to argue against an amendment to the thousand page long Syria resolution saying it would make it too long and wordy so I had taken notes about it.
"Ok, I will! This amendment is too confusing for the stupid UK/USA Powerhouse" hahaha. The Iran guys laughed alot. It was really funny. I guess you had to be there and see how much we hated the UK. We're such nerdy losers.
Well this conference was really nice and the kids were really nice and this was the first year we hadn't gotten mean notes!!! I mean we had been real obnoxious and all but yea... so here are the best quotes of this conference:
"CONNER IS NOT THE FUHRER!" -Nate
"Sorry I'm late, I was yelling at Mongolia"- Brian
and the note that gets Model UN the nickname "Nerds Love Nest" (This is not Les Amis Love Nest!!):
"Resolution for the Cuban girls phone numbers" hahaha it was really funny. We got it and it was from Saudi Arabia (I have no idea who they were) and Marie was writing back that we both have boyfriends, but the conference broke up and then some girls walked up to us and were like "some guys from our school were wondering if you got their note?" And Marie was like "we have boyfriends" and they were like "awww, ok thanks." It was really funny. Especially since Brian was right there! lol. (hey its a step up from "I have a big dick do you like sex?")
Oh! And there was a guy from E. Amherst who looked JUST LIKE Elric most of the time! (those two were NOT RELATED)
Anyway Tuesday night was fencing. A lot of people were there even Ciara!!! I love her!! She's so much fun!! She's home for a month from her British boarding school. So Liz and I had a sabre lesson from a Shawn/Brian powerhouse (my third, her first) and we did sabre and epee and she did foil but I just did epee with Chels. So that was fun. Its about time we learn again!! Good times. Scottula was invited into the club and so was Courtney! yay!! Greg was bitter. But then again, he's Greg. What a Greg.
Who invented Handball and why?
Later. SO MUCH HOMEWORK. Pourquoi Madame? POURQUOI???
Congrats to Liz for getting into Wellsley!!
