Last night I didn't have fencing, and I kinda freaked out because what the heck am I supposed to do with all that time? I wrote out our French script and then I wrote some of my Manneken Pis essay and played with facebook. And I still got to bed at 2:30. It was FREAKY. I kept being like "I'm just never going to fence again" it was nuuuuuuts. This afternoon we filmed our French scene and it was a party. Except not.
so yes, the stalker emailed me yesterday, but not all day today. whoo.
RANDOM POLITICAL MOMENT. I'm not going to say anything, I'm just going to put a quote:
“Since 1990, only seven countries outside the United States have executed people for crimes they committed as juveniles, and all seven—Iraq, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Nigeria, China, and Congo—have disavowed the practice.” ~The New York Times (3/2/05)
yes.
Iraq. Saudi Arabia (if you'd like to hear my rant about that country, lemme know...) yes
Today some guys walked up to be in the student center where I was eating breakfast and asked me if I knew God I told them that He and I were tight. They were like "ok" and they moved on. I was kinda frightened.
On facebook I joined a group called "KenWest Survivors". It had one member. Yea KenWest! I also joined the "I'm Irish and I've actually been to Ireland" group. whoo St. Patricks Day in Boston, baby! (12 days!!)
I love globalization, but today in IR we watched this extrodinarily sketch video where there was a "fat cat" and it was catching these poor mice, and like, giving their jobs to third world country mice, I guess. And I was watching it, and they'd say one part of the argument ("they pay only $.33/hour to these poor people") and my brain was saying the other part ("but at least they give them jobs, and its cheaper to live there. Plus, international companies are the best to work for, at least they get jobs") and it was a party in my head. I spend an average of 12 hours a week reading about globalization thanks to a combination of a lot of my classes. Thanks to MAX123 for actually giving TWO sides to the argument.
Also, whenever we talk about David Ricardo I get excited because of that crazy "The Choice" book I once read. And last week we read this randomly anti-Belgian article about Samuel Gompers. Thank you Mr Herb, I cannot think about Samuel Gompers without thinking about crazy times in AP American. Same goes for "intrastate"--am I the only one?
