So today in French class we were reading a story titled Les Sirènes, and it was a nice little story about mermaids. La la la...and then suddenly I got to this part:

Alors, les sirènes tombent sur les plongeurs. Elles leur sucent la cervelle et le sang, et leur mangent le foie, le coeur et les tripes.

I was like "what?" and I read it again. For those of you who don't speak French:
So, the mermaids take the divers. They suck their brains and blood and eat their liver, heart, and intestines.

The other story we read for class had a swear word in it. I love hearing (and saying) French swear words because its super fun. Well,it is NOT super fun when you're in Tourcoing and you get the sudden urge to say "MERDE!" or "PUTE" and your 7 year old French brother is standing right there...

I think my favorite French story was when we were on Elric's Grandparents farm and there was a donkey next door and he was making noises at us and they were telling us what it was and then Elric's 13 year old brother turns to me and says "Je peux dire ca en anglais" and I was like "ah oui?" and he was like "ouais. Jackass" and I laughed and was like "umm, oui!" and Elric laughed.

In writing, I got to talk about the Mannekin Pis, which always makes me happy:



Anyway, Since Katie did, I want to give a shout out to my new LJ buddies-- Katie Sylves and Alyssa Hemeister!

Now I have to go write a job application... being a beer supervisor would be cool....
